An archive of photographs beginning in travel "through these States," containing research into petroglyph and pietograph forms in Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, etc. Image of the anthropomorphic in rock. First aphorism: "Vision of image teaches image-making capacity." To date: Anasazi, Dinwoody, Barrier Canyon, Fremont, Pueblo, among others. The hybrid nature of these representations and their crossing of the human and the animal is as compelling and imaginatively dense as any marginal representation in a medieval Psalter.
